Vitargo is a unique carbohydrate because it is specially processed to yield a high molecular weight profile that is massively different from the carbohydrates that make up sugars (e.g. glucose, fructose, sucrose) and maltodextrin found in ordinary sport, energy, and recovery drinks. Most importantly, Vitargo is proven to work in athletes—in peer-reviewed published university studies. Part of the secret of Vitargo’s technology is the molecular size of Vitargo. Scientists use molecular weight (how heavy the molecule is) to determine the size of molecules. As shown in the table, Vitargo is hundreds and thousands of times larger than maltodextrin and sugars.
CARBOHYDRATE MOLECULAR WEIGHT
High Molecular Weight Vitargo: 500,000 to 700,000 g/mol
Maltodextrin: 1,000 to 10,000 g/mol
Starch syrup: 250 to 1,000 g/mol
Sucrose: 342 g/mol
Dextrose (glucose) : 180 g/mol
But molecular size alone does not make Vitargo unique. Vitargo is made through a special fractionation process that makes it rapidly digestible and therefore capable of delivering glucose to the blood, liver, and muscle at least twice as fast as other ordinary carbohydrates. Other so-called “high molecular weight” carbohydrates are “weightless” when it comes to proof—they have zero university studies showing superior fuel delivery or performance in humans.

Vitargo is a unique, patented carbohydrate form that has an extremely high molecular weight, giving it the property of very low osmolality, or very low tendency to attract or draw water out of the surrounding tissues. This all by itself will create a sense of comfort and no bloating. All other sports beverages have a lower molecular weight and a higher osmolality than Vitargo. It is also proven to empty from the stomach 2.3 times faster and be absorbed into the body more quickly compared to a comparable beverage with sugars and maltodextrin, the types of carbohydrates used in many popular sports/energy and recovery drinks and powders. This is why Vitargo can help you be fully fueled yet feel empty enough to train.
Our elite and pro athlete users notice no bloating or “heavy stomach” feeling when they use Vitargo® before or during training or competition.
Q:
A:
The honest answer here is that you certainly can eat those foods, but if you are pre-fueling before training, you will need to eat those foods many hours prior to training to ensure that the carbs are digested and in your bloodstream, liver and muscle cells to fuel your training. If you eat them right before training you won’t have fueled your muscles, and you will most likely feel too full to train well. Without question, these foods will help refuel muscle and liver glycogen stores. However, the question really should be will they refuel and recover glycogen stores as fast as Vitargo and without the bloating and “heavy stomach” feeling? If you are training or competing in multiple same-day bouts or the very next day you need to choose the carbohydrate source that is research proven to accelerate refueling and recovery after exhaustive exercise.
Q:
A:
Absolutely! Vitargo is the perfect fuel for anyone who wants to challenge themselves. We have many active and athletic women and girls who depend on Vitargo to fuel their training and performance. In fact, they love it! Pound for pound, when females train at high-intensity levels they require just as much carbohydrate as males. Although women are better fat burners during moderate intensity exercise, even then half of their fuel comes from carbs. There’s no worry about fullness or bloat with Vitargo. It’s the perfect fuel for women and girls!

Here’s the thing: eating the wrong foods, too much food, and no exercise are the biggest reasons that people become overfat. It may surprise you that the thing that holds most people back from achieving a sculpted physique is under-fueling their training. Most people plateau or get stuck before reaching their goals because they think that all it takes is hard training to burn fat. But if you don’t fuel your body with carbohydrate you can’t do high-intensity exercise. Your body needs carbs to train at high levels. When you lack carbs, you feel like you’re training really hard, but if we measured your work output it would actually be low. So your calorie burn is lower than you think it is, and your training suffers. When you fuel your body before high-intensity exercise, you train harder for longer, burn more calories, get a better training effect, and you burn more fat during recovery. That’s what creates the ultimate sculpt. Trainers who fuel with Vitargo know that they’ve never looked better!

Vitargo is a huge carbohydrate molecule compared to ordinary carbohydrates used in sports drinks. Because of this Vitargo is more difficult to dissolve. Use a blender ball in your shaker bottle, and fill the bottle/shaker with 200 ml of water, then add the powder and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Add 500-600 ml of water and shake vigorously for another 30 seconds. Always make sure to add the powder to the water, and not the other way around.

Carbohydrate improves creatine absorption by causing an increase in insulin secretion which improves the storage of creatine. Creatine storage can be improved by taking Vitargo together with creatine. Ingesting Vitargo raises blood sugar levels and therefore the secretion of insulin, an endogenous hormone. The improved uptake of creatine into the muscles is attributed to stimulation of creatine transporters mediated by insulin.
L-carnitine, commonly known as a metabolic pathway enhancer of fatty acid oxidation, has only been shown in research to actually improve fatty acid oxidation and energy availability when combined with Vitargo supplementation. In an elegant study, scientists demonstrated an increase in cellular uptake of carnitine after Vitargo ingestion and rapid insulin rise, followed by enhanced use of fat as energy during exercise, a decrease in perceived exertion, and an increase in work output. No other carbohydrate source has ever been shown to support the transport of L-carnitine into the muscle cell and efficacy of use except Vitargo*.

As a science-driven company, we are completely transparent and do a tremendous amount of testing to certify not just that we say so, but that independent laboratories ensure the purity of our products and our claims.
All of our ingredients are clearly stated on the label. We never use “proprietary formulas” that do not tell you exactly what is in the product.
Every batch of every product is tested for purity after manufacturing for contaminants and banned substances by Banned Substances Control Group (BSCG.org), the gold standard in banned substance and drug-free product testing. We guarantee that everything on our label is in our product, and there is nothing in the product that is not on the label. All testing laboratories are not equal. We choose BSCG because they test every batch, every time, with comprehensive test reporting!
We apply the FDA main regulatory standard of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMPs) for ensuring pharmaceutical quality of human medications. CGMPs provide for systems that assure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. Adherence to the CGMP regulations assures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of drug products by requiring that manufacturers of medications adequately control manufacturing operations. We manufacture a nutritional supplement, but strongly believe in the CGMP systems for quality assurance for our customers.
We test every batch of Vitargo for gluten content. Even though we could legally label our product as gluten-free without testing because it does not contain any protein, we test it anyway to be certain that it is gluten-free. You can trust that our product is always well below the legal standard for gluten-free labeling.
Vitargo is certified Kosher, Halal, non-GMO and vegan.

According to the research data from independent university laboratories published in peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, Vitargo is emptied from the stomach, enters the small intestine, and arrives in the bloodstream twice as fast as maltodextrin plus multi-transport carbohydrates, known to be the next fastest carb supplement. Glycogen is replenished in muscle cells within two hours—again twice as fast as any other rapid sports drink, and performance studies have shown up to a 23 percent higher work output two hours after exhaustive exercise. Therefore, recovery is very rapid. Independent research also shows that when taken with Vitargo, L-carnitine enters the muscle cell and improves fat oxidation during exercise to reduce perceived exertion and enhance work output. Vitargo is very easy on the gut and can be used before, during and after both resistance and endurance exercise without any stomach upset or bloating. No other product outperforms Vitargo, backed by published, peer-reviewed research studies.

The purpose of Vitargo is to deliver fast fuel. It is rapidly emptied from the stomach, rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream to raise blood glucose levels with a rapid insulin response to deliver the blood glucose to your muscle cells faster. That is the only way that you can fuel high-intensity performance. You can only improve athletic performance through athletically challenging your muscles. Vitargo is the premium fuel for athletic challenge and enhanced training results.

Dextrose is a simple sugar that is chemically identical to glucose but always made from corn. Dextrose has a tiny molecular weight of 180 g/mol. Vitargo has an enormous molecular weight of 500,000-700,000 g/mol. Small molecules pull water into your digestive tract, very large molecules do not. This unique characteristic allows you to fuel with much more Vitargo at one time without any stomach fullness, bloating, or discomfort, and is likely part of the reason behind the rapid stomach emptying and refueling properties of Vitargo. With Vitargo you can fully fuel your training and feel empty enough to train.

Vitargo is very different than other products made from waxy maize. Waxy maize is simply a high starch corn variety commonly used in the food industry. It is cornstarch. Vitargo can be and has been produced from any food starch, including waxy maize, potato, and barley. We use a patented process to create Vitargo with the unique properties characteristic of our product. No other brand can make Vitargo, or anything close, regardless of the source of their starch.

Many people ask the glycemic Index of carbs in common. A sports drink should have a high glycemic index, giving a rapid and easily accessible energy to the bloodstream and this is the case of Vitargo. No exact value is known at the moment, but insulin and blood glucose values indicates higher GI than for maltodextrin (glucose polymer) ~137.

Every person has a different fuel burn rate, but in general Ironman competitors burn from 600-1200 calories per hour out on the course depending on gender, training, body size and pace. Considering the same caveats, 60-90% of your calorie burn will come from carbohydrates. That means that carbohydrate grams usage can be as low as 90 grams to as high as 270 grams per hour, with some wiggle room around those numbers again based on the factors noted and more. Since you should have stored glycogen in your muscles before your race, a smaller or slower competitor may do well with 2 scoops of Vitargo per hour. We know that many highly competitive Ironman racers use 6+ scoops of Vitargo per hour by mixing it into less water and turning it into a gel for easy carrying on the course and then drinking plain water at hydration stations.

The protein choice is important, whey protein (in particular hydrolyzed whey) is faster and superior to casein protein or other whole-food protein choices.
If the immediate goal is muscle and glycogen recovery post-workout – Vitargo w/ hydrolyzed whey protein is best. And possibly consider adding 5 grams of creatine monohydrate.
Now… if the goal is to gain weight and add calories, shakes that contain a combination of Vitargo, protein powders, fruits, seeds, etc is a great option.
